Josephia Rouse, Esq.

OUR FOUNDER
Josephia Elease Georgetta Rouse was named after her father, aunt, uncle, and grandmother, reflecting her mother’s deep-rooted emphasis on family. From an early age, she was drawn to professions that make a significant impact on people’s lives, debating between becoming a doctor or a lawyer. By the time she was five years old, she knew she wanted a career that allowed her to help others in meaningful ways.

A devastating personal loss shaped her path. When Josephia was just fourteen, her twenty-four-year-old sister was tragically killed, and her body was found 400 miles away from her car. Though her death was ruled a suicide, the unanswered questions surrounding the case fueled Josephia’s desire to seek truth and justice. At that moment, her decision became clear—she would become a lawyer.

She began practicing law in 2013 and officially became a lawyer in December 2013. Early in her career, she worked alongside her cousin, a general practitioner, gaining exposure to various areas of law. However, she found her true passion in family law, particularly divorce, recognizing the profound transformation individuals undergo during the process.

With this realization, she founded Divorce With A Plan—a law firm dedicated to guiding individuals through divorce with a structured, strategic approach. Her mission is to empower her clients, helping them navigate one of life’s most challenging transitions with knowledge, confidence, and a plan for the future.
